Situs Megaupload.com Ditutup FBI

Amerika Serikat, menutup paksa situs file sharing terbesar di dunia maya, Megaupload.com, karena dituduh melanggar undang-undang pembajakan. Megaupload yang sering digunakan untuk berbagi file bajakan pun ditutup paksa oleh FBI. Sang pendiri Megaupload, Kim Dotcom/Kim Schmitz dan Mathias Ortmann, juga ditangkap di Selandia Baru dengan tuduhan pencurian hak kekayaan intelektual

Departemen Kehakiman Amerika Serikat mengatakan bila ini merupakan kasus pelanggaran hak cipta terbesar yang pernah ditangani. Megaupload dituding telah mengakibatkan kerugian sebesar 500 juta dollar AS.

Perang Cyber Dimulai

Ditutupnya Megaupload telah membuat marah hacker Anonymous. Mereka kemudian menyerang situs FBI, Universal Music, RIAA (asosiasi industri rekaman), MPAA (asosiasi industri film) dan Departemen Kehakiman AS. Dan tak hanya itu hacker Anonymous juga menghidupkan lagi situs Megaupload, tetapi bukan dengan alamat www.megaupload.com melainkan http://109.236.83.66/

Para aktivitis hacker atau disebut hacktivist melakukan hack terhadap beberapa situs yang dianggap bertanggung jawab atas ditutupnya situs tersebut. Situs FBI (www.fbi.gov), Departemen Kehakiman AS (www.justice.gov), perusahan rekaman Universal Music (www.universalmusic.com), Asosiasi Film Amerika (www.mpaa.org), dan Asosiasi Industri Rekaman Amerika (www.riaa.com). 

Salah satu kelompok hacker bernama Anonymous mengklaim bertanggung jawab atas pembajakan situs pemerintah AS tersebut. Anonymous mengatakan bahwa serangan kali ini merupakan yang terbesar. "Kami ada disini, kami siap untuk melancarkan perang Cyber kepada pihak yang akan merugikan para pengguna internet. 

Bangkit dan bergabunglah bersama kami untuk memperjuangkan hak-hak Anda. Megaupload ditutup meski RUU SOPA dan PIPA belum disahkan. Bayangkan jika RUU tersebut disahkan, maka era Internet yang selama ini kita kenal akan berakhir", tegas Anonymous.

Anonymous menggunakan serangan DDoS (Distribute Denial of Service) yang akan mengirimkan trafik secara besar-besaran ke suatu situs sehingga server akan mengalami crash akibat beban yang terlalu besar.

Menurut tweet @YourAnonNews, serangan ini merupakan yang terbesar yang pernah dilakukan Anonymous. "Sebanyak 5.635 orang telah memastikan menggunakan #LOIC untuk menjatuhkan situs-situs! #Anonymous," demikian tweet itu. Serangan Anonymous kali ini diberi label "OpMegaupload". Seperti biasa, Anonymous memanfaatkan jejaring mereka yang tersebar luas dan sulit dideteksi. 

Menurut Gawker, Anonymous menggelar serangan itu dengan menyebarkan tautan di berbagai tempat, mulai dari Twitter hingga chatroom mereka. Jika tautan itu diklik, maka pengguna akan langsung menjalankan serangan ke situs yang jadi sasaran. Serangan memanfaatkan peranti Low Orbit Ion Cannon (LOIC) yang berjalan otomatis dari sebuah halaman di PasteHTML. 

Kita sebagai pengguna perlu berhati-hati saat mengklik tautan terkait OpMegaupload ini jika tak mau ikut-ikutan melakukan serangan ke situs yang jadi sasaran.
